The City of London has standards for the collection of garbage, recycling materials and yard waste to ensure the right materials enter the proper collection stream, and to help ensure worker safety.
The checkbox below will help to determine if your garbage was in compliance with the City’s waste collection by-law. Garbage that does not comply will not be collected. If no problem can be identified, please leave garbage out for collection and staff will return to inspect your garbage for removal or will advise you of why it was not collected. In most cases we are able to return within 24 hours, not including weekends.
If collection crews have already tried to collect your garbage and it was not accessible, and you require a truck to return for collection you will be notified to confirm your request and informed of a service fee for the return visit.
The following is a list of requirements for garbage to be collected. Please review the list and check the box below to confirm that the garbage is in compliance with the by-law.
- Was accessible to collection crews – it was not blocked by vehicles, construction, snow, etc.
- Ready for collection by 7am on your collection day
- Regarding of non-collectable waste (mattresses, scrap metal, construction & renovation material, appliances, electronics, tires, etc.)
